1989 Mercury Marquis brake light

The brake lights are not working. I have replaced all the bulbs and the fuse. The brake light switch is new and replaced but I would like to add some more wire and I do not know the size of it? I am also curious what else could make my brake lights not work.

it may be your turn signal switch check the lt grn & lt grn /orange and org/lt blu wires to see if they are getting power if not that is your problem.
