My tail lights work when I step on the break or apply the emergency flashers, but will not come on with the headlight switch. Any thoughts?

I think the problem might be with the turn signal switch on the steering column. I have checked the headlight swithc and it seems to work okay.

thanks for any advice you can offer!

Welcome, double filament bulb, your turn and stop uses the same bulb filament, just not at the same time. The taillamp circuit has a filament by itself. Blue wire is voltage for tail-lamps, brown wire is voltage for stop or turn. Also check ground circuit.
