89 trooper no fuel, then starts again after a few days, all over again. I have a question, I hope it's a simple one enough. I have an 89 isuzu trooper 2.6l 4cyl. The problem I'm having is I will start it and it will idle, rev up when I use the gas pedal, and idle well enough just letting it, about 3-5 min., then after it idles for a bit and it's warmed up, it will die, stall, and will not start.
At the point when it dies I think I remember hearing a "click" like maybe the fast idle switched, the idle has slowed after warming up and then it dies. After it dies like this. I've undone the gas line (new fuel filter installed also) and there is no fuel coming from the tank. Then I let it sit for a few days, starts up, does the same thing all over again, the fuel pump seems to be working fine?
I does have spark, just not pumping fuel, or it seems to pump great until the car warms up, then it doesn't work nothing but then works and same thing after waiting for a few days. The fuel gauge inside the car itself no matter what is working great, oil pressure's fine when it does run, tried changing and swapping relays with used ones I have and doesn't seem to help, does this sound like anything in particular? If possibly I don't have to take it to a mechanic and can do the work myself mainly without having to waste a lot of money buying the wrong parts that is what I'm hoping for.
