Hello. My truck has the 4.3L v6 engine. Yesterday it started smoking excessively (white smoke) when I cranked it, but it went away once I started driving it. Also, when I remove my radiator cap, it looks like red mud. It has been like this for some time now, but I have never overheated or had coolant in my oil. I replaced the radiator and hoses recently and the red mud color came back. I am also getting fault code 44. O2 sensor is farly new as well. Could this be a faulty intake gasket?

the white smoke is burning coolant. it could be the intake or a head gasket. a leak down test will confirm.
