Hello. I sure need your advise. First off, I couldn't input the model in your form page above....what we have (and have had only five months) is a 1989 Ford Bronco II 4x4 with a little 6 in it. It runs good since we got it except for a minor rattle in the middle of the undercarriage upon the onset of acceleration. This rattling is exacerbated immensely when you turn the hubs and run it in four wheel drive. Unfortunately, this rattling has gotten far worse since when we first got it (in or out of four wheel drive now); upon the onset of acceleration and sounds pretty bad when were going "under" freeway speed. When you increase the speed, the sound seems to level out. What it sounds like now, is a constant little canary chirping from somewhere in the middle of the underside of the truck and in unison, the really bad sound is like having strung 20 or more TIN cans in the middle of the undercarriage (?) more towards the front of the vehicle than towards the back. It isn't until we reach freeway speed that it seems to lessen. The overdrive hasn't engaged since we got it either; it just kinda allows it to coast real well and saves a little gas. Anyway, in looking at the manual, we're thinking that horrid rattle is somewhere in the drive train. I need this vehicle to keep running as I live in Tahoe and am dependent upon it's performance in and off the roadway. Any ideas on potential diagnoses is greatly appreciated, as I haven't any way to pay for your answer, let alone have any clue how I am going to pay for the repairs on the Bronco and/or where to take it in the first place.
