I have changed battery cable, starter relay. looking for what I should check next.

1989 ford bronco engine will not hold a charge, will start if jumped but dies if lights are turned on

The generator is what keeps the battery charged after starting the engine. Use an inexpensive digital voltmeter to back-probe the wires through the plug and tell me what you find when the engine is running, and the wire colors.
