what are the to extra wiring leads

Did you get both connectors off the donor vehicle. The male and female connectors? The extra wire what color?

I replaced a windshield wiper motor once with a salvage yard part. Like you two many wires, one or two, I got both connectors from the donor vehicle. Matched up the wires, the extra one or two, I taped up with electrical tape, so they wouldn't touch anything. Then I tried the windshield wipers, worked perfectly. I still don't know what the other wire was for?

Any wiring mistakes you make, that is on you, not me. I can't see much from here.
