Can you decode this engine block number JY812095

I purchased a used engine and was told it came out of a 1988 ford mustang.

None of the parts I ordered fit and the parts house believe the engine came out of a mercury marquis?

This number is stamped on the top of the block just behind the rear manifold. There is no number by the starter or anywhere else on the block.

Can you tell me anything about the engine by the number JY812095?

I was told it is a 302 from a mustang but it is not and I am trying to get the engine number JY812095 decoded

I have googled this at ford sites for the id but the number does not come up. I will keep on searching.

is there another number on the block by the freeze plug areas?? this number looks like when it was made, like 8-12-95

we did find another number 8C17 back by where the starter would bolt on ???

look on the sides. it should be where the freeze plugs are.
