Hi

I've had 2 vehicles layed up over the last 2 (British) winters. Both have been undercover and sheltered in cold garages.
The vehicles are
1988 G20 5.0l Petrol with about 180k.
1990 Lotus Elan 1.6 Turbo Petrol with about 40k.

After gently turning them by hand and finding everything moving fine, both have cranked over and started. All good so far.

Unfortunately, both are pumping out significant quantities of light coloured 'smoke' from the exhaust.
I've run both (at idle) up to normal operating temperature.
The fuel has been sitting in the tanks for in excess of 18 months.

Any ideas?

I've had a look through the smoke sections on the website - all very informative and useful. I'm just wondering if there are any special considerations when a vehicle has been standing for a while.

I'm hoping it's just going to be condensation formed in the fuel tank which will burn off. Does that sound likely?
