Have gone thru two car batteries pretty sure the alterbnator needs replacement, and at same time replace voltage regulator. This problem may have started when I replaced the starter cylinoid, when I got the new cylinoid I was given the wrong part at auto parts store I installed the new part the engine stayed like it was cranking over did not sound right at all made the mistake of disconnecting positive battery cable to stop engine did not know at time that could cause serious damage to electrical system, hoping computer is not damaged, and engine did stop.Eveything electrical seems to work, blinkers, brake lights, clock, radio, check engine light.all seems to work.Battery just not taking charge both batteries lasted two months, good running old timer car still.Ford made this one good.Agian hoping it just needs new alternator/voltage regulator. Can you give advice on this situation. Thanks.
