My shifter shaft broke in the housing. I have no other mechanical problems but I'm having a hard time finding a replacement part. No parts stories on my area carry a manual shifter for a 1988. Only automatic shifters. I have called salvage yards but I'm not sure if i could take a shifter from another year and it would still work........ please help
