I have a 1988 ford bronco II. I stopped for gas and the engin ignition would not engage the starter. There was a clicking nosie comming what I assumed was the starter solenoid. It did not sound like it was the batterie. Is was more of dragging clicking. I was able to push start the vehicle. Is there a way to test the solenoid or ingition module to see which one it might be?

Does any of this help?

Your Solenoid is probably the newer version

Imma CJ Jeep kinda feller--my family has Fords

If you can "Translate" the OlD STYLE vs NEW STYLE solenoids, that may help (The actions/terminals are still the same)--these in the link may be Marked as far as BATT-STARTER-"S"--"I"

I suspect the other actions will fix you up---if not get the solenoid!

Let me know your Outcome
