How do I repair door latch on 1989 Dodge Caravan front passenger side that is stuck in closed position preventing door from closing?

Have you checked the latch to see if it if broken or if the linkage is apart?

The compressed weatherstrip helps it pop open. Pull the release handle and use a screwdriver blade to pull the latch open. The grease gets hard in cold weather so it won't pop open without the weatherstrip pushing on the door or you tugging on the latch.
