1988 Dodge Caravan Hazards not working.

Add a switch? Why not replace the hazard flasher as a test? As I recall, the two flashers are behind the "knee blocker" panel in the fuse block.

Ok regarding the flasher . On top of the fuse block there are 3 positions the 1st one on the far left is a square silver relay for the horn the second one is blank and has 3 slots in it 1 horizontal & 2 vertical & the 3rd has the turn signal flasher. I went to 2 Dodge dealers & no one has clue. I went to 3 auto parts stores & they all tell me that they see one flasher that does the signal & the hazards. Dodge gave me these part #'s 2932877 which is the signal flasher & these other #'s 3837162 which is a 3 light flasher ? & 4373067 ? so this is where I am at. At the auto part store we looked at a repair book & it shows the 2nd relay position blank in the book ???

In spite of my asthma and the miserable Wisconsin winter, I marched out and looked in MY '88 Grand Caravan daily driver which I love dearly! The missing spot you mentioned is for the thermal timer when you have a light next to the ignition switch. To get to the flasher you're going to have to remove the knee blocker panel. You might try removing the black lower plastic panel first to see if you can look up from the bottom, but I can hear my flasher to the right of the steering column and it sounds like it is up higher. The hazard flashers still work when I unplug that yellow one in the fuse box.

Sorry about that dude but it's much appreciated. I took off the lower dash trim looked up under the dash & found a flasher mounted to the support bracket that holds the fuse panel. The flasher is a larger one a 552 and it is behind the fuse panel.( signal flasher is a 323 ). I still did not get any action from that hazard flasher so I checked the fuse found it to be dead fuse is good so I jumped out to a spare fuse & it works ( no power to that fuse slot ?? ). Once again Thank You very much !! It was pretty easy to bring this 88 Caravan back to life . One last question on the 2.5l I have valve chatter ( runs very smooth & noise goes away when I bump the throttle off idle ) did an oil change 10w 30 high mile motor oil added a little Lucas oil about 3/4 quart it did quite down a little the van only has 37K on it can these valves be adjusted ?

That engine has hydraulic lash adjusters on one end of the rocker arms. There is no adjustment for them.
