"electronic control system" warning in Eldorado

Inherited a 1988 Eldorado. Intermittantly, the information center goes dark, and the dashboard
is blank except for "electronic control system" warning light. Car still runs fine, then minutes later, everything's OK. doesn't appear to be vibration sensitive, but who knows. How bad?

you to take the info,. panel loose then dupilcate the problem. then disconnect the info panel and see if the speedo lites up.if yes the info panel is bad if no the speedo is bad. u can drive without the info center pluged in. the dash warning lites still work. gl

forgot the dealer reconditions the info panel and speedo take it 2 the parts department. gl
