check brake light switch at top of brake pedal, start here.

unpluged brake switch and still no lights 1 wire on switch harness is hot thats it

do you get power through the switch with it down, if not it will be faulty.

Check for power at the fuse, and then work back down the line looking for a fault.

the plug in has 4 wires how many should be hot

There are 4 wires, 2 for the brake light circuit and 2 for the cruise control.


Unplugging the connector would not make the lights work. You need to bridge the Green/Red (hot at all times) and the Green/white wire.

The cruise control system wires would be hot only when the cruise control and ignition switch is turned on.
