I was driving last night and I shifted from 2 to 3 and it made a long "clank" sound and then would not stay in a gear. I shift into first and it sounds like sounds like something is off or loose and is banging around. Comment or message me for more info or with any questions.

Check inside the two front wheels for a broken cv joint. They typically make a lot of clicking and crunching noises for months or years before they finally break.

Thank you that sounds like those need to be replaced soon, but I towed my far back today using a tow strap and my steering was working fine except for some cracking. The main issue is the my car is on and the motor is running, but I can out my car into gear. Whether I'm in neutral or in gear it makes this grinding noise. I try release the clutch and give it such gas so I can move and they engine revs up but it doesn't move an inch and the tachometer only goes up slightly.

Constant-velocity joints, (cv joints) are on the half shafts. They don't have anything to do with the steering. Look inside each front wheel for signs of grease sprayed all over and the rubber accordion boot torn apart. If you shift into first gear with the engine running, if the joint is broken you'll hear the half shaft turning and possibly banging around, and if you look underneath you'll see the shaft spinning on one side of the car. It's supposed to be turning that wheel.

I just wanted to say thank you. You were actually spot on. It was the front left cv joint.
