87 nissan pathfinder

i have a 87 nissan pathfinder. i just had a new altinator put in and i bought a new battery. battery wont stay charged for more than 3 or 4 min...any suggestions?

Have the alternator and battery load tested if okay start checking wiring/connections at alternator/battery and back to the ignition switch

Go ahead and have both load tested and report back if the problem still exist

i tested the battery and its right at 13 with motor off. With motor started it tested 12.9 to 13. so i tested the alternator and it tested at 12.2. even though the alternator is new is there a chance that it has something wrong with it?

12.2 volts that's just battery voltage-bring it in and get load tested-
