You may have a vacuum leak, this will take two people, remove the main vacuum line going through the firewall, if you do not smoke you will have to bum a cigarette, like the cigarette and blow smoke into the holes, while somebody inside the car looking under the dash for any signs of smoke leaking, if you see smoke repair vacuum lines as necessary.
