How to set the timing on a 1987 gmc s-15 2.5 litre

I need to know what terminals to short across on the diagnostic port under the steering column & if there is anythi.g else special I need to do to set the timing. I just put a new engine in it.

you ground terminal A&B at the aldlunder teh dash by the steering column and set the timing at 8 degrees BTDC
