I have a 1987 dodge dakota. I put a 1966 8 3/4 rear 355 sure grip setup. It had a 355 open 8 1/4 originally. The engine is 1977 truck 360 with j heads worked to the nut pushing over 400 horse . Rebuilt the tranny (an A998 loadflite) with all kevlar bands and a shift kit. Had transfer case rebuilt. The other night under normal driving conditions my transfer case completey broke in half. Can you recommend a better, stronger transfer case so this will not ever happen again? It is also a 4x4 truck, 3" body lift and 33" tires. Amazing truck get stopped by people all the time very impressive also has 8' bed. So any help you can give me would be appreciated.
