1987 Chrysler Le Baron 87 Lebaron No spark at coil.

Do you have a fuel injector pulse? If no spark and no fuel injector pulse, look for an rpm signal, that signal comes from distributor, sensor inside.

With TBI fuel injection, you should be able to see injector spray pattern, if no spray pattern, I don't think you have an injector pulse. Check rpm signal.

Can you check applicable trouble codes? You may be able to get some codes from the power loss lamp. You turn key just till the dash lites come on, no further. Cycle the key on--off, on--off, on, then the lamp on the dash starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes.

How long since over-all tune-up?

I tried the key turn as you suggested and did not get any flashes for the light. Either there is no code recorded or my light is blown. Would the codes be lost if the battery had been disconnected?

The car had a tune up about 24 months ago but I know the ignition pickup sensor in the distributor was not replaced. How would I go about testing it?

Sorry about the late reply, I've been out of pocket the last couple of days.

Does the rotor turn when you crank it?

At the sensor connector, the orange wire is ref voltage, black wire with lite blue tracer is ground. the Gray wire is sensor signal. You can use digital multimeter to check for ref voltage, key on, maybe around 8 volts.

With engine cranking check signal wire, if your digital multimeter has a duty cycle--dwell or tach setting, any of those should react to dc pulse.

No rotation on the rotor or on the cam shaft sprocket. Looks like a broken timing belt. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Looks like I have a fun project for this weekend.

I have same problem with the Le Baron 1987 2,2l turbo cabrio
But the rotor spins while cranking the engine, ASD is working fine, but there is still no spark
I' ve checked the voltage on the ignition coil: after turning the ignition switch it' s 0, 7 V less than the battery voltage for one second (11,3V) BUT it' s gone when cranking the engine, it' s 0, 2V then.
Could you advice me what to check next?
The ignition coil and the pickup sensor are just replaced for a brand new ones, but it didn't help.
