1987 G20 Chevy Van Overheats replaced thermostat heater core

Check the radiator if its clogged and water pump if its pumping coolant thruout the engine-if all okay -Get it block and pressure tested

The water pump is in working order the van overheats almost right away a half mile or so. The van wasn't overheating prior to heater core replacement. radiator forcing fluids into overflow...Thanks for the help.

That likely means that you overheated severely earlier and now have a blow head gasket. Just make sure the thermostat isn't stuck or in backwards and you got all the air out of the system.
