We put ignition module, coil packs, O2 sensor, fule pump and filter, fuel pressure regulator and other sensors, checked codes and it reads normal codes. Changed throttle body and checked vacuum lines all to no avail. Any ideas at all to help out? Could it be the computer? Thanks.

How about some clues as to the problem? Symptoms? Observations? Have you actually diagnosed anything or just thrown random parts at the problem? You're working in all different systems. Why do you want to replace the entire engine? Sounds like the least expensive route is to have a professional look at it.

We have had multiple mechs look at it. They all say different things. What suggestions xan u make as far as what kind of problem it could be. We have been going based on what they say and its not working. It is currently at a shop that also cannot figure out the problem. They fixed a vacuum line and we drove it home. Thats as far as we got :(

We don't have a clue what the problem is. Engine doesn't run? Wipers don't work? Tires are flat? Paint is peeling? What problem are you having and what clues or symptoms have you observed?

Once in a while it will start right up and run for a while. Most times it wont start. When it does start almost every time we have to keep on the gas to keep it running. If ya let it idle it dies. Sometimes it will run on its own till its good n warm and then die or if ya shut it off wont start again.

If it stays running when you press the gas pedal, that suggests a possible problem with the idle speed motor. There is an air passage around the throttle blade that is opened by that motor to let more air in. That's how the computer controls idle speed. Your mechanic should be able to use his scanner to tell the Engine Computer to run the idle speed up and down to see if it's working. If it doesn't respond, that passage could be blocked with carbon. The motor could be defective too.

You should also get a nice "idle flare-up" to 1500 rpm when you start the engine, then it should come back down to around 800 rpm in a few seconds. If that occurs, the idle speed motor is working. If that doesn't occur, that can cause the engine to not start unless you hold the gas pedal down 1/8".

Be aware the idle speed motor doesn't do anything when you're driving except when coming to a stop. If the engine stalls at higher speeds, that's usually an electrical problem, typically with a sensor. Usually a diagnostic fault code will be set in memory and the Check Engine light will turn on. If there are no stored fault codes, a fuel supply problem would the best suspect.
