no codes everything looks good until i drive it

When its hot you need to check fuel pressure check for a sticking egr valve to start have you checked for codes or are you saying no because the check engine light isnt on?

i took the wire off the trans. that is the wires to the torque converter and it is working OK now. could it be the solenoid in the trans.

me agian went for a drive in the car after takeung the wires to the torque converter off went for about 45 min to 1 hr. went ok then died will not start untill it cools off. how do you check the codes

It could be have you tried to check for codes yet?

I posted how to get the codes and how to clear them see what codes you have but you set codes by running the car with connectors unplugged.Let me know what codes you find.

Yes depending on which connectors are unplugged it will set codes because the computer will see a problem with the circuit thats how the computer knows to set the code in the first place.So do we have spark when it wont start to all the plugs?Do we have the correct fuel pressure when it wont start?So when it doesnt start it cranks over normal speed etc no signs of battery or alternator not charging issues?

yes have spark to all the plugs and i put a new fuel pump on new filter and new battery. correct fuel pressure i dont know but with and new fuel pump and filter i would think so if not why. it will start now when it's not hot. but will die after about 1 min.
if i let it cool down till it is cold it will start fine and run good till it gets to op.temp then it will die agian

We need to make sure you have the correct fuel pressure when it won't start and run even though you said it has a new fuel we still need to rule that out.Do you have a multimeter to do some testing?

Another thing we could have is a plugged cat you said it is still sluggish when the car is cool and starts?

some times it's sluggish when the car is cool,
some times it runs ok for 20/30 min.

when this first started i went to the store about 2 milrs from the house came out of store started up fine got to the coner died.
had it towed home
then started from there

Have you checked the fuel pressure when it has trouble running?Also it wouldnt be a bad idea when your car is running bad to perform a back pressure test?

hey it started this morning when it was not hot checked with timeing light # 1 and # 4 not fireing as much as the rest of them.
new coil on #1 and 4 had the Ignition Module checked on sat. they said it was good going to tell them i want a new one.
just put a new computer on iton sat. to

still no codes from computer

the only thing i have not done is put new plug wires on

and yesterday i took the fuel line off at the tank should the fuel pump keep running it did for only about 3 sec then stoped turned it off and tryed agian and same thing.pushed in the what looks like a air valve to day on the fuel rail and no pressure turned key off then back on then some gas came out very little then nothing

You never changed the spark plug wires yet?If the wires are breaking down that could cause 1 and four not to fire as much especially when hot if the wire was breaking down they would break down more when hot.But causing it not to start i dont think so you could have more the one issue.With the engine not running the fuel pump only runs for a few seconds to prime the fuel line pressure and injectors.When it starts it will run the pump constantly.The valve you found is where you check the fuel pressure.Rent a fuel pressure gauge and see what the fuel pressure is when it doesnt run good just to rule that out.They rent them at auto zone for free with deposite.

how can i check the egr valve?

change the plug wires no change. no auto zone around here.
or part store that has one. will need to go 70 miles to get one.

That sucks your out where nothing is you can remove your egr valve and see if the pitle shaft is sticking opening.Also lets check your charging voltage at idle when its running bad with the headlights a/c etc on.Also have you had your battery tested made sure your battery cables are clean and tight?I would also make sure you do a exhaust back pressure test when its having trouble running.

when it runs for about 5 min. then turn it off will not start back up till it is cool agian.

The back pressure test you remove the o2 sensor and screw the back pressure gauge in its place and hold the rpms up to about 2000 rpms and see what the gauge reads.The shutting off and wont start for five mins is what we have to work on you said we have spark to all the plugs when this happens.We also have to see what the fuel pressure reads then and also if we have injector pluse also.To check injector pulse you need a fuel injector noid light you plug it in place of the fuel injector crank the engine and watch for it to flash.

Also do you have any carb and choke cleaner?If so when it gets hot and wont start spray some in the throttle body and see if it starts.

when it wont start pour fuel into the throttle body.does it start?then check the fuel pressure we need to know what the fuel pressure is when it wont start.youll need to do what me and saturntech9 say or youll never fix this and are wasteing everyones time.

YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well theres why it wont start when you have that low of fuel with the gauge hooked up and with the car cranking try smacking the center of the gas tank with the palm of your hand see if the fuel presure goes up.If it doesnt go up then see if you have power and ground at the fuel pump while cranking the engine.

checked the fuel injectors 3 bad put new ones on every thing ok now thanks for the help
