what would cause a 22re motor to dump water out of the number 3 cylinder after a top end rebuild due to water and oil mixing?

Hello,
Most common cause is a leaking cylinder head gasket, but if this is after a repair that was done for the same reason, the next suspect would be a crack in the cylinder head. Was the head checked for cracks? The last thing would be a crack in the cylinder wall, but that isn't common.
