1985 Oldsmobile 98 3.8 mileage: 113,000. My car was bought at an auction. It did not start, so I replaced the fuel pump, and that fixed it. I drove for about fifty miles with out any problems, and then all of a sudden the transmission went into neutral out at third gear. If I put the car back in second it will engage just fine, and shift between first and second just fine. At idle, it engages just fine in reverse and drive, but as soon as it gets to third, it just goes neutral. Any suggestions?
