1985 Chevrolet Truck truck

i have a 1985 c10 pickup im having issues with. it had water in the fuel from a leaking seal around the gas tank we repaired that and put on a new carberater kit, new plugs and wires, new radiator. and now when we start it it puffs smoke . sometimes it will sit and idle good, then when we put it in drive to go it starts sputtering erratically,i think it might have vacuum issues,what should i check next?thanks in advance
