Hi. For my first car I bought a 1985 Camaro, the engine is a 1988 Pontiac Firebird 2.8 V6. It's been running great for several months but it has a problem now. There is a loud humming noise.

*It only occurs while the engine is warm and the car is idling
*The noise seems to be coming from the front of the car
*If I accelerate at all the noise will go away
*Aside from the noise the car is not behaving differently in any way
*The humming noise was quite at first but it has gotten much louder so I stopped driving

If anyone could identify the problem I would greatly appreciate it.

That noise is likely coming from one of the belt driven components. If you can't isolate it by sound, then remove the belt and you may be able to hear or feel it when spinning pulleys by hand.
