the distributor installation?

the distributor on a 1985 Buick Grand National turbo V6 it has no plug wire it is electronic how do we know if it is right when we drop it in how do we know when it is on number one how will we know?

so when i drop the distributor it has a sensor that runs to the coil pack how do i know when it is lined up on number one it does not have plug wires run to the distributor itself it is all electronic so how do i judge on the electronics when it is on one will it do it itself
