As someone once said, "I don't try to get all my education from booklearnin" If you have no experience doing this, seek out someone who does, preferably a friend or one that can come over and assist you. Next is the desire you exhibit in wanting to replace an entire engine due to seals (whatever that means) and then with the 4Runner and the thrown rod, wanting to repair it, when possibly replacement could be a consideration for that incident. These notions might need some thought before you continue, fixing cars and swapping engines is not easy, if it was, anyone could do it. I am not trying to talk you out of anything, I am just wanting to see if you can be with a bit of adversity before I commit to helping you do something that requires tools, time and patience. I want to replace the engine beacause it leaks oil from every possible place this pick up was bought to rebuild into a rock crawler for the rubicon.... the engine that's in it was a 22re that my dad tore apart and made work in the truck it had 50k in it to start (when he pulled it from a rolled vehicle) and my dad added another 25k to it and I've added another 15 since I bought it and just a month ago o blew a seal somewhere around the timing chain cover and my crankshaft not sure what seal just know that's where all the oil is sewing out fro
and I'd rather not replace all kinds of stuff on this engine when I can pit in a new engine....as for Friends and family I have friends and fam that know how but I've learned if u want it done do it yourself people areto unreliable wether it's work for free or I offer to pay and bein that it's a 22r it should b doable by me with the right manual or whatever.....the 4 runner yes I wNt to replace the bad cylinder I was told pull the top off and replace the cylinder

What you need to do here is get someone that has experiences in engine rebuilding and have the special tools needed w/o it things might go wrong, there's a lot of procedures are involved removing and replacing internal parts. This is not a DIY by reading the manual someone has to walk you thru the process that's been there before in order to be successful-My opinion

I unfortunatley don't have the money to paysomeone to do that work nor anyone reliable enough to help me...so if I ever want this truck running again I need to do it myself or sell it broken which I have tried and cannot do

well I'm gonna do it with a friend instead who is a mechanic just not sure if he has done alt of I ternal work anyway what manuals should I get? would a chiltons or do I need one that's more on depth? thanks for any help you can give me
