When parked six years ago everything on the 1984 XJS V12 worked properly. Last week the battery cables were connected to the wrong poles. When connected properly the secondary failure warning and ignition warning lights are on with the key in the off position.

I have not and will not try to rev the engine with the lever in reverse or any forward gear.
