This happened all of a sudden one day. I parked the car and then when i got back in the wheel was stuck and the key wouldn't turn. I thought it was the lock pin in the string column first so i tried turning the wheel back and forth with no luck. I then puked the steering wheel and tried manually releasing the pin. That didn't work either, the key still wouldn't turn. The key for the car was really worn and i only had one copy so i replaced the ignition switch and got new keys. When the ignition switch cylinder is not in the column the wheel will turn but when they are together neitheor will. I am at a loss what to check next and am Hoping toavoid replacing the steering column. What else could be wrong?
