Have 1983 242 GLT that will not shift in last gear, Auto and the overdrive button works? I can click the botton on the overdrive and see the light go on and off.

Need to chcek the OD solenoid for operation light coming does not mean solenoid is operating

Is there a was to test the solenoid or bypass it so I can get overdrive. Need for work and need a quick fix until part is ordered if thats the problem. Thanks

No way to bypass solenoid must engage 3-4 shift valve. test for voltage ans listen to hear if it clicks.
