is there a way to test an ignition coil (external cylinder type) before replacement?
Its an 83 ford f150 pickup with a 300 inline 6

In the previous answer, the test instructions are correct but the specs are wrong for this vehicle.
The primary spec is .8 to 1.6 and the secondary is close at 7700 to 10,500

WHEN I MADE THIS, I HAD ANOTHER EXPERT (THOUGHT TO BE RELIABLE)FIND THE INFO, MY CHILTON IS FROM A COUPLE OF YEARS BACK......JUST MADE THE DIAGRAM TO MAKE IT EZ TO SEE HOW EZ IT IS TO TEST.

IF YOU ARE SURE--I WILL TAKE TAKE THIS BACK TO "PAINT" AND FIX IT SOON!
