Accelerate is a problem and when pushed it ref too high and release it does not idle

More info please, auto manual? petrol diesel? carby or EFI and what capacity engine?

It is a 1981, pertrol, 5speed engine with carbirator. If I release the accelerator pedal it stops to idle, and when pressed it floods and stalls

Check the fuel pressure and choke opening adjustment and fast idle cam-sounds like its loading up-too much fuel and less air
