compression issues and new heads on a 78 VW bus

on the 78 the heads usually are the compression problem they should cost around [$250 each head]originally they have been known to have weak valve seats...the exhaust side is usually first to go because they run much hotter then the intakes ...but the new heads have been re designed to combat the problem and do a really good job ...oh'' when its repaired 'also change the lifters around [$80 for the set] the shops rates in your area vary shop to shop ok'' hope this helped.........mechtrix
