Idle speed

Look for a sticker under the hood or on the radiator support. It will be listed on that. Otherwise, 700 - 800 rpm is typical for an automatic transmission. It can be a little lower with a manual transmission. It should feel comfortable when shifting into gear and you shouldn't have to have a helper holding the brake pedal when you're waiting at a stop light!
