HI, I have a 1976 T-bird. The electrical system shut down on me. The car was running and then had a powerful surge to the system for about 15 secs, then it died. I am assuming the alternator may be the cause all the fuses look good, I cant seem to fin out if there may be a fuseable link some where I am over looking,

Does engine crank? what is BATT open voltage? if it cranks is there spark? fuel?

Your rig won't do nothing now....starter.....lights...etc?

Explain "Powerful Surge" a bit more.....Glowed in the dark....lightning bolts jumped off of it.....the engine did what???

Let me know if this helps

Pay attention to the positive battery cable/ accessories at the solenoid and fusible links

Test your voltage at the battery posts......report it back to us
