Freeze PLugs in the Head

I have recently paid a local mechanic to replace all the freeze plugs in my Nova due to a small leak. After all the freeze plugs had been replaced I tried to drive the car, made it 5 minutes down the road and the car started smoking and it smelled weird. I took it back to the shop and they told me that the car had a couple of freeze plugs in the head of the car and they could not find the parts to fix it so when the other freeze plugs got changed it put pressure on the ones in the head and made them leak. The problem Im having is the shop told me that the parts I need are no longer made and they cant get them, So does anyone know what size the plugs are and where I might be able to find them. The engine is a 250 straight six

I don't know the size of the freeze plugs, but they make all sizes. I feel confident you can get them.

YOU MAY HAVE HAD "THE SMOKE TREATMENT" (BLOWN UP....)

What do you mean the smoke treatment? Come on guys Im like 23 and a chick.. ha ha I have no ideal what mean when you say these things... Also went on that website Not sure what to look under for freeze plugs but It will be very useful in the future.. Also Ive tried to contact a few machine shops, They want to charge a fortune for something Im sure If i tried hard enough I can find.

Hi.. Call any parts store and ask them if they carry freeze plugs. They will say yes. From there, tell them what you need. They should be able to tell you. If they can't, call a machine shop that does engine work and ask if they can tell you. If you run into trouble, let us know. I have a 78 in storage and about 30 miles away. I will run over and see what they are talking about. Let me know.

Yeah I have a feeling that they just didnt want to put fourth effort in finding the parts( ive had to search for gas tank, radiator, ect) I usually Have my dad work on it if its something minor. I have a feeling Im about to become my own mechanic. Thank you all for taking the time to answer my question :)
