exhaust manifold is leaking at the head after i replaced it. any suggestions?

Check that there was not any excess build up of carbon on the manifold face, check for cracks in the header and that the header is not warped.

the header is good. but its leaking from the center set of exhaust valves. ill check for carbon but im worried about over tightening. i think my torque wrench may be off

you can try 2 gaskets, but it does sound like a bend problem, if there is no excess carbon of any old gasket material fouling things up.

will a silicone gasket seal work or should i go buy new gaskets?

Use a sealant in conjunction with a new gasket, don't rely on a sealant alone, that will just leak again.

thanks for the help, the new gasket fixed the problem. there was a tear in the one i put on before. to bad i broke a radiator outlet off as soon as i finished it. if its not one thing its another. time to buy a new radiator.
