i replaced the alternator on my 1975 cj5. the replacement was different, it had external diodes with the battery terminal attached to it, so i put the battery wire on that terminal but wouldn't charge. took diodes off and ran battery wire same as old alt. charges now but i have a 12volt draw. any ideas
