It's a holley 2280 2 barrel on a 1969 318 industrial in a 1975 dodge w100. I rebuilt it because the truck couldn't idle at all, and it helped the idle. The choke still doesn't work and there are some wires that dont go anywhere. There is a wire coming off the idle screw that doesn't go anywhere, is that a ground or...? There's a red thing (in pic) that looks like it should be connected to something. Finally, I cant find where the choke thermostat should be on the engine, did that engine not have that? There are some wires that aren't connected to anything right by the carb as well. Basically whats right annd whats wrong. Sorry about the pic quality.

I you have an industrial 318, it won't have the choke thermostat in the intake. It would have been a manual choke. The best things to do with this is to simply run a manual choke to the carb from in the truck so you can adjust it as needed.

As far as the wires, I can't see them. Is there any way to get more light on the carb?

Sorry, the wires are black and blend in with all the oil on the engine. The main wire I am wondering about is what looks like a ground cable coming off the fast idle screw.

I found this pic on the web. Take a look at it and let me know if it helps you identify the items.

For some reason, your pic won't enlarge. It is hard to see what you circled. However, from what I can tell, I believe that is for the idle stop solenoid. It was run by a computer to increase idle speed when it was cold. I believe the carb you have is from the mid to late 70's through the early 80's.

Yeah, that sounds right. Since, the engine doesn't have the choke thermo I am going to buy a manual choke and disconnect the old choke. Thanks for all the responses.
