the black wire from teh distributor, assuming it's one should go to the negative side of gcoil.if it's electronic then it goes to ground like engine block. but if points it goes to neagative side of coil. I am assuming this is the starter solenoid that yo have as the large wire seems to be coming fromteh positive side of battery? here is a schematic for this vehicle. hope this is what you want.

it can go to the starter/ engine block, etc. just make sure you have it connected. also run about a 10 gauge wire from negative of battery to body. the Positive will runto the positive post on the starter and the negative if yo put it there will go to one of the mounting bolts. but put to engine block is better.
