Where is the brake light switch located on a 1973 Plymouth Duster, is it mounted on the brake pedal, or on something else. This car didn,t have one on when I bought it, and i can,t see where it goes.

Thanks Bill

It slides onto a metal bracket that bolts to the steering column support sheet metal, then the pedal arm comes back and pushes on the button to turn the lights off.

THIS PUPPY LOOKS VERY SIMILAR TO MY 1977 CJ 5 STOPLIGHT SWITCH

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_stoplight-switch-bwd_5972914-p?searchTerm=stoplight++switch#fragment-1

IT MOUNTS AT THE TOP END ON A BRACKET SORTA BEHIND THE PEDAL ARM (ON MINE)

THE SWITCH IS DEPRESSED BY THE PEDAL ARM----WHEN THE PEDAL IS IDLE/ OFF/ NOT DEPRESSED

WHEN THE PEDAL IS PRESSED/ PUSHED/ BRAKES ACTIVATED----THE PLUNGER (CONTACTING THE PEDAL ARM) COMES/ SPRINGS OUT IN THE SWITCH----THE SWITCH TURNS "ON"THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON

I JUST LOOKED AT "DESCRIPTION" IN THE LINK THIS IS....MY JEEP'S SWITCH ALSO

DID THIS HELP?

THE MEDIC
