car will not start

i have a 1970 vw beetle that will not start. it was running, but then cut off and has not started since. i've changed plugs points condenser adjusted valves changed carburator new coil and it still will not start - it doesn't even sound like it's trying to start. any suggestion would be much appreciated. what else can i do?

Is there voltage to Coil + terminal?

Does fuel shut off solenoid on carb have power and operate.\? Is there spark at plugs?

Spray carb cleaner into carb crank if it fires then fuel if no check engine cvompression

i sprayed starter fluid into carb - it didn't fire; i've also checked the engine compression (all 4 cylinders) - compression was more than 100

change the fuel filter it is in the fuel pump,the try it. If that does not work make sure the distributor is on correctly and the timing is 1- 4 -3- 2. You had not stated that you changed the distributor cap and rotor. If not check the cap for any crack, if any found replace cap and rotor. With cap off and out of way check the rotation of distributor by turning the car over for a second to see if the distributor turns.
