did this happen suddenly/gradual or always that way?

You need to open both door panels and study the driver's side door latch mechanism-how it opens up the door-when you got it open make sure you lubricate the striker and grease the mechanism-both side, be aware this is not gonna be easy-it take times to figure it out

u need to get a slim jim and unlock the latch
