Electrical Problems with 62' Studebaker

62' Studebaker Lark Daytona 4 door - I have checked my battery and my alternator, both are in proper operating order but my car looses amps after jumping, especially when I turn on my head lamps and radio. Could this be faulty wiring or a generator issue?
Also: When I turn my steering wheel the horn sounds. I think this is also a wiring issue, should I just get all new wiring and start from scratch? I have found a few at the base of my steering column with corroded and chipped insulation.

Check the drive belts tension. Loose drive belts would result in lower charging from the alternator. If alternator is woking correctly and you have an external voltage regulator, that should be the component to test. For some, adjustment is possible.

For the horns sounding while turning, check the horn buttons and steering wheel horn contact.

I'd changethe harness if you can getone. and check your horn wire through the wheel like kh said. Drive belt can be loose causing this charge problem but if it's a motorola system you have to change teh alternator and regulator. they were transistorized and if you just changed one the other usually burnt out.
