I have a 401 nailhead engine. The fuel pump has failed and I want to change out the pump myself.
I need to know what needs to be done to change out the pump. Is there anything special about changing it other than unbolting it and take off fuel lines. I have the original mechanical fuel pump style with the arm pumping off of the cam. Is there any thing special about seeding the pump arm that operates from the cam.
Please can you offer a step by step how to change the fuel pump.

You just have to make sure the arm gets under the cam correctly and the pump will go in straight.
