Driving my car home last night and it stalled and then would not start

Car listed above is the RT model. . It would crank but not start. Just installed a new battery 2 months ago. Husband checked the oil and it was low, so thinking that maybe that’s why it wouldn’t start, he added oil. Still nothing. Gas was low but not empty. Put gas in, still nothing. Code reader showed O2 sensor but that has been reading bad for a couple of years with no issue. No other codes. Had the car towed home. Disconnected the battery thinking it would reset the computer, still nothing. RKE battery in key fob said low battery, changed battery, still nothing. Any thoughts? Husband thinks maybe crank sensor? Don’t want to throw money at a guessing game if we can help it.

Hello,

This could be a few different things, the Crankshaft Position Sensor[CKP], Camshaft Position Sensor[CMP], or the Auto Shut Down Relay[ASD]. As for testing the CKP and CMP, it needs to be done with an oscilloscope to read the wave form patterns, so it's really not an option for most DIY home mechanics. The good news is that they are inexpensive, for the most part, so replacing them doesn't cost to much. So, I would recommend starting with replacing the CKP. In the diagrams down below I have included the instructions from the vehicle manufacturer for the removal and installation of your vehicle's CKP. I have also included the Original Equipment Manufacturer[OEM] part number for you for reference. Please go through these guides and get back to us with how everything turns out.
